Funding for the Children’s Museum of Southern Minnesota in Mankato has breezed through two state Senate committees so far.
North Mankato State Senator Nick Frentz said the museum is a big tourism draw for the area and, “We have about 100,000 visitors a year and it’s not just a Mankato area attraction. It’s regional. They bring in students and people from all over southern Minnesota and, to some extent, around the state.”
The bill would provide $400,000 in grant money from the arts and cultural heritage fund because Frentz explained, “It has both a cultural and educational component.
