President Trump’s Tax Day visit to Minnesota has framed a heated debate which will resume at the state legislature when lawmakers return next week from their Passover/Easter break.

House Republican Minority Leader Kurt Daudt says Democrats seem “pretty locked in” to tax people right out of the state: “Maybe they could have a little respect for Minnesotans and back off of that a little bit, and we could get a little more reasonable as we finish out the session here.”

House Speaker Melissa Hortman responds the tax plan that Governor Tim Walz and fellow Democrats propose will level the playing field:…”making sure that middle-class Minnesotans get tax cuts and corporations pay their fair share. They at least will not get a second scoop of tax cuts from the State of Minnesota.”
