3-D Printing Class

Mankato Makerspace
Come to the Mankato Makerspace to learn all things 3-D printing! Anything and everything 3D-printing-related is on the table. If you want to buy and build a printer, need help tuning one, like discussing the latest industry news, want input on 3D modeling techniques, or just want to hang out with other enthusiasts, you’ll fit right in. There’ll be something to enjoy, no matter whether your interests are artistic or mechanical, industrial or hobby-level, or theoretical or practical. Ask questions, see how it works and prepare for future events involving the library’s new 3-D printer! Open to ages 8+. Registration required.

Teen/Tween DIY Gemstone Soap

Tweens and teens ages 9-18 are invited to join us for DIY Gemstone Soap on Tuesday, April 30th at 4:00pm. Registration is requested.

Battle of the Books Registration
Open until May 29th at noon

Sign up for this year’s teen Battle of the Books on Saturday, August 3rd at 10am at the Saint Peter Community Center. Join a team and battle it out with trivia questions about four pre-selected books. Compete against teams from other area libraries for a chance to win a $100 Amazon gift card for each person on your team. Each participant will receive all four books to read over the summer in preparation. Call or stop into the library with any questions or to register.

 Susan Bartlett Foote Author Visit

Join us as we welcome author Susan Bartlett Foote for Mental Health Awareness Month. Foote is the author of “The Crusade for Forgotten Souls,” a book that tells the stirring story of the reform movement that laid the groundwork for a modern health system in Minnesota. This book was also nominated for the Minnesota Book Awards. Mental health is an important subject to talk about and we are grateful to have Foote coming to discuss her groundbreaking book on this topic. Copies of the book will be available for purchase after discussion.

Teen Free Food Friday

Come for the free food, stay for the fun! This month we will be doing instant challenges! You will be broken up into teams and given materials that you have to complete a given challenge with before time runs out! Open to ages 13-18. Registration requested.


Chipotle Fundraiser

Visit the Chipotle on Madison Ave between 4-8pm on Tuesday, May 7th to support your local North Mankato Taylor Library. Show your support by bringing the flyer available at the library or pull up the flyer on your smartphone (available on our Facebook and Instagram pages) to show the cashier. At the end of the fundraiser, 33% of the proceeds will be donated to our library!
