On NBC’s Meet the Press Sunday, presidential candidate and U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar says it was Anita Hill’s 1991 testimony during the confirmation hearing for Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas that motivated her to get into politics.
“I was a young lawyer when this happened and I remember being captivated by her watching every moment of that hearing.”
When asked about former Vice President Joe Biden’s response to his actions against Anita Hill during the hearing, Klobuchar said:
“That’s going to be Joe Biden’s decision and I’m sure he is going to have to continue to address this issue as we go through the campaign.”
Biden last week said he doesn’t think he mistreated Hill, though he has said publicly he regrets how she was treated.
