Governor Tim Walz says he looking into allegations of incompetence and favoritism toward officers by the state Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, early in its investigation into the police shooting of Justine Damond:

“I need to understand what… (happened) here and what brought up those accusations and to understand whether we can validate them and, if we do, what are the processes to move to alleviate that.”

The B-C-A says its agents conduct thorough, comprehensive and independent investigations.   A Hennepin County jury Tuesday found former Minneapolis police officer Mohamed Noor guilty of third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter in the fatal shooting of Justine Damond.
