This time of year, Better Business Bureau of Minnesota and North Dakota sees an increase in schemes involving asphalt companies. Most of these companies either advertise in local newspapers or go door-to-door trying to get business. They usually claim they were working on a project nearby, and have left over asphalt so they can pave your driveway at a discounted rate. They do the job, but the quality of the work is often sub-par, and the final bill can sometimes be a lot more than the homeowner was quoted.
