RIP TORN died yesterday.  There’s no word yet on the cause of death.  He was 88 years old.

Rip was nominated for six Emmys for his work on “The Larry Sanders Show” in the ’90s.  He won one of them.  He was also nominated for an Oscar for the 1984 movie “Cross Creek”.

He also played Zed in the first two “Men in Black” movies, Dodgeball legend Patches O’Houlihan in the 2004 comedy Dodgeball, and the voice of Zeus in Disney’s “Hercules”.

You may remember him from his run-ins with the law in his later years . . . including two drunken driving arrests.  In 2010 he was arrested for drunkenly breaking into a bank in Connecticut with a loaded gun . . . because he thought it was his HOME.

Not surprisingly, many people found him difficult to work with.

Rip Torn Fun Fact:  SISSY SPACEK was his cousin.
