It’s day two of Amazon’s “Prime Day” and it can be an opportunity for scammers to take advantage of eager shoppers.

“Consumers aren’t always thinking things through before purchasing something or signing up for a coupon, or seeing a deal for a free gift card and putting their information in, and in fact, the gift card might not be real, the coupon might not be real.”

Bess Ellenson with the Minnesota Better Business Bureau urges shoppers to take their time and read the fine print. She says if you spot grammatical or other errors on a shopping site, that can be a red flag that a company or their offer is not legitimate.
