Beginning today travelers headed out of terminal one at Minneapolis-St. Paul International will have to pay close attention to their security status so they know which checkpoint to use. Airport Spokesman John Welbes says T-S-A PreCheck and CLEAR PreCheck passengers only will use the south security checkpoint, all other passengers will use the north checkpoint.

“We’re going to have a lot of signage at the entry points to terminal one where people come in. And we’re also going to have a lot of people on the floor in the ticketing lobby helping people when they come in.”

Welbes says they do not think passengers will have to plan on arriving any earlier because of the change.

“Once they’re at the right checkpoint we have the same throughput, the experience should be the same once they get to the correct checkpoint.”

Changes are in place because of remodeling work in the terminal. That work is expected to be completed in December.
