Is your memory not as sharp as it used to be? Do you sometimes have trouble remembering simple things? VINE Faith in Action is offering a 12-week cognitive training program to teach participants techniques to sharpen their brain.
Classes begin September 5 and students will meet on Mondays and Thursdays from 3-4 pm at the VINE Adult Community Center to exercise different areas of their brain. The program was developed for people who feel as though their thinking and memory are not as sharp as they used to be. VINE’s trained staff will lead the classes in a social setting that is both fun and stimulating. Participants will be given the option to take part in research conducted by Minnesota State University, Mankato Psychology Professor, Dr. Jeff Buchanan, on how well the program works in community settings.
This Mind Aerobics class has been offered in other locations around the country and was offered at VINE last March with 17 individuals graduating from the VINE Mind Academy.
The cost for the program is $72, which includes 24 sessions. Scholarships are available for those interested. For more information or to sign up, call (507) 387-1666.
