If you’re looking for an educational but still fun experience to help ease the kids back into school, consider a Labor Day visit to one of Minnesota’s many historic sites.

Kayla Stielow with the Minnesota Historical Society says there’s an evening look at 10-thousand-year-old Native American rock carvings at the Jeffers Petroglyphs site in Comfrey in southwestern Minnesota:

“That will allow people to self-guide around the rock and the carvings, which gives them an opportunity to see carvings that they might not see on the regular tour, as well as stay later.”
