An Austin man is in custody in connection to a bank robbery in Iowa Tuesday afternoon.
Authorities reported that 27-year old Luis Vega is in custody after the robbery of a branch of Cresco Union Savings Bank in Lime Springs.
The Howard County Sheriff’s Office reported that Vega left the scene in a motor vehicle with an undetermined amount of cash.
A bank employee was able to give a description of the vehicle, which was later caught on video in Lime Springs and later in Le Roy, Minnesota.
The vehicle’s license plate was captured on video and that led authorities to Vega, who was arrested Tuesday afternoon in Austin.
Vega has been charged with a felony for 1st-degree robbery.
