The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is warning the maker of JUUL vaping devices that it may have violated the law by claiming its products are safe. And the FDA says JUUL engaged in unauthorized marketing practices–particularly aimed at youths.

“We’re glad to see the FDA take this step that’s long overdue, but we know that they’ve really failed for years to take strong regulatory action on flavored tobacco products and that’s in large part why we’ve been taking action here at the state and local level and continue to push for that from our lawmakers.”

Laura Smith with ClearWay Minnesota. JUUL says it will cooperate with any potential investigations.
