Five businesses received a total of three-point-six million dollars in the latest round of grant funding from the Minnesota Job Creation Fund this week. Shane Delaney with the Department of Employment and Economic Development says the goal of the fund is simple.
“These are businesses that are either moving to Minnesota for the first time or these are businesses that are already located in Minnesota but are looking to expand and grow. So this fund provides financial incentives to those businesses to help them with those projects.”
Three of the recipients in this round are in Greater Minnesota and two in the metro. All of the businesses have an existing footprint in Minnesota and are slated to use the funding to expand operations here.
