Waseca is one of ten towns still in the running to be featured on the TV series “Small Business Revolution.” The show picks a town to get 500-thousand dollars in services and goods to help boost the small business economy. Waseca Area Chamber of Commerce executive director Ann Fitch says making the top 10 out of more than six thousand applicants is a big deal.
“It was pretty amazing to say the least. We had a group of chamber members that were meeting for breakfast and we were gathered around in the local pheasant cafe as we finished up our omelets and waffles. And we kind of lost our minds for a minute.”
Fitch said she felt the show producers were drawn to the fact the area has an existing plan focused on growing small businesses. Producers will now visit the ten towns and narrow the list to a handful of finalists. Waseca is the only Minnesota town that made the cut.
