Minnesota Senator Tina Smith is condemning Iran’s launch of missiles towards bases in Iraq housing US troops. Smith says it’s important the United States does what it can to de-escalate the situation.

“I don’t want a war in Iran,” said Smith. “And I don’t think Minnesotans do either. I’m thinking of Minnesota National Guard members stationed in the Middle East and their families back in Minnesota who are worried about them.”

Smith says she’s very grateful to hear the preliminary reports of no United States casualties from Tuesday night’s attack.
