There is always some speculation that when a band is saying farewell, then something must have happened. However, that’s not the case for Rascal Flatts.
“Something that I think merits mentioning is that a lot of people have asked us since we’ve made this announcement is if something had happened, did we have a falling out, have we fought with each other, have we gotten to the point where we can’t get along. That’s not the case,” he explained. “We’ve just gotten to this point in the road where it’s just forking, and we’re entering into new seasons of our lives,” Jay DeMarcus said.
According to DeMarcus, this decision was not met lightly, and he stated that this was a very tough decision, but this was something that they felt was the best for them at this time in their lives. The band recently announced its 2020 Farewell Tour, but it’s not a goodbye.
DeMarcus stated that they have been in the business for 20 years, and they’ve never been able to stop and say that they’ve done some very remarkable things in their career. Joe Don Rooney, another member of Rascal Flatts, stated that he’s very humbled by the band’s success, and he’s looking forward to going on tour to celebrate that with their fans.
