Blue Earth County has declared a state of emergency related to the COVID-19 pandemic. Commissioner chair Vance Stuehrenberg signed the declaration Tuesday afternoon. The declaration will be presented to the full board of commissioners at a special meeting (Wednesday) afternoon at one p.m. County officials say the declaration directs the County Administrator and Emergency Management Director to coordinate activities as necessary and request local, state and/or federal assistance as needed to protect lives, and public and private property in the county. The meeting will be held in the board room of the historic courthouse.
