On top of the coronavirus outbreak, the seasonal flu continues to circulate across Minnesota. Over the last reporting week, activity has been widespread. The health department’s Karen Martin:

“We are still in the thick of things here in Minnesota as far as influenza activity. Things are still quite high and we’ve been at widespread activity for several weeks now.”

The good news, hospitalizations are down. There were 177 this past week — compared to 326 the week before. So far this season there have been 121 flu-related deaths and three pediatric deaths.
