Minnesota Governor Tim Walz is in self-quarantine with his family at the Governor’s residence.

“One of my detail personnel tested positive for COVID-19,” said Walz. “I was in contact with that person several days so according to the guidance I’m in self-quarantine with my family. I have no symptoms so I have not taken a test per guidelines.”

Walz says despite his situation, the state government is fully functioning

“Weeks ago we set up all operations at the residence”, said Walz. “Of course the state’s emergency operations center is up and running so the message to residents is state government is fully functioning.”

The Minnesota Department of Health says 235 state residents have now tested positive for COVID-19, an increase of 66 from Sunday.
