Fire crews respond to fire in a hotel room at Norwood Inn 

At 3:20 p.m. on Monday, April 6th the North Mankato Fire Dept was dispatched to the Norwood Inn (1111 Range St.) for a report of a fire in a second-floor hotel room.

Initial responders discovered an active room and contents fire along with heavy smoke in the 1st and 2nd-floor hallways.

While initial responders assisted with the evacuation of the building, fire crews entered the room and extinguished the fire. It was quickly determined that the room was unoccupied.

No tenants were displaced by the fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the North Mankato Fire Department and State Fire Marshal’s Office.
