Senator Karin Housley of St. Marys Point is introducing a bill today that allows restaurants to temporarily offer to-go sales of beer and wine.

“So many businesses across Minnesota have just been devastated over the events of the recent weeks, restaurants especially have made the best of what they can right now with to-go meals, and just trying to help them out we thought, maybe to help them get rid of some inventory they would be able to sell a bottle of wine or a six-pack of beer along with the food that they’re delivering.”

The bill will temporarily allow all establishments with current on-sale liquor licenses to sell beer and wine for off-premise consumption, in addition to their takeout food offerings, for the duration of the COVID-19 peacetime emergency declaration.
