While most of the medical community is currently focused on COVID-19, persons are reminded emergency care for any reason remains open. Dr. John Hick is with Hennepin County Medical Center. He spoke at Governor Walz’s Friday coronavirus press conference.
“With the declines in the emergency department volumes we’re seeing, we’re very concerned that people are too concerned because of COVID-19 to come in if they’re having chest pains or stroke symptoms,” said Hick. “Please understand the emergency care system is there for individuals all the time and to use it to make sure your health is protected.”
Hick says all facilities are still committed to serving patients no matter the reason.
