In a series of tweets Friday morning, President Trump tweeted LIBERATE MINNESOTA. Governor Tim Walz says he attempted to contact the White House for further meaning.
“I’m not going to read into what something is suppose to mean,” said Walz. “That’s why I called to ask what we’re doing differently to get people back to work in as safe of a manner as possible. The response will likely be longer than a two-word tweet but I think there’s a responsibility to tell us that.”
A group of protestors showed up at the Governor’s residence Friday raising concerns with the state’s stay at home order. Walz said he will fight to the death for the protestors’ rights to raise concerns for the decision. Walz says he feels what Minnesota is doing mirrors the President’s plan to re-open the country which was released on Thursday.
