State representative Jeff Brand of St. Peter says there are many reasons a bonding bill should still happen during the legislative session. Brand says he sees it as a way to keep people working.
“A bonding bill would be a great way to keep the construction trade as well as plumbers and electricians working,” said Brand. “Those people have families and spend money in their local communities so it would be a win-win for all parties involved.”
Brand says another reason to pursue a bonding bill is interest rates will likely never been lower. He adds cities and counties still have infrastructure needs and won’t have a lot of money to spend so a bonding bill would be a way for the state to help local governments.
