Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar is reportedly being vetted as a possible vice presidential candidate for presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden. Hamline University Political Science professor David Schultz says based on recent national results, Klobuchar has an uphill climb.

“I’m not sure Minnesota politicians resonate that well in the rest of the Midwest,” said Schultz. “That’s not a criticism of the politicians. It’s just that Minnesota is so much different than the rest of the Midwest.”

Schultz cites Klobuchar, Tim Pawlenty, and Michelle Bachman’s poor showing in recent Iowa Caucuses.

Schultz says the Presidential race will likely come down to the Midwestern states, similar to 2016
