Some Minnesota State Parks are witnessing 300 percent of their average traffic. Dan Ruiter with the Minnesota DNR, says that’s great, but it has certainly changed the peaceful getaways that some folks are seeking:

“If you do see a full parking lot at one of our state parks, that’s a cue that the park is at capacity, you might want to come back at another time or visit one of the great regional parks or county parks.”

Ruiter suggests visiting the park during the week, early in the day or in the evening to avoid the larger crowds.
