There have been over 100 COVID-19 cases reported in Blue Earth County over the past week. Kris Ehresman with the Minnesota Department of Health says they have connected many of the cases from bar activity the weekend of June 12th and 13th at two primary locations.
“Rounders and the 507 in Mankato,” said Ehresman. “If individuals have frequented those locations and are experiencing symptoms please consider being evaluated.”
Ehresman says they’re not worried as much about those under 25 becoming hospitalized, they’re worried about those individuals spreading the virus
“Thankfully we know our younger populations tend to have better outcomes from COVID,” said Ehresman. “What we’re concerned about is this subsequent spread from these individuals to those with underlying health conditions and who are at greater risk.”
Ehresman says the efforts of the state will be undermined without the cooperation of all Minnesotans and they’re asking younger residents of the state to take COVID-19 seriously.
