With COVID-19 cases rising in Blue Earth County will state officials sent a testing unit to Mankato, similar to what has been done in other “hot spots” around the state? The question was asked to MDH Commissioner Jan Malcom on Friday

“We’re developing better routine procedures on how to handle hot spots,” said Malcom. “There’s a team that has been formed and I’m sure they will consult with our epidemiology team to evaluate whether that would make sense.”

COVID-19 positive cases have increased 43 percent in Blue Earth County in the past week. MDH on Friday linked many of the cases to bar activity at Rounders and the 507 in Mankato on the weekend of June 12th and 13th.
