One of Minnesota’s most influential business groups is urging Governor Tim Walz and legislative leaders to move quickly toward a compromise agreement on police reforms. Charlie Weaver with the Minnesota Business Partnership says:

“We can’t afford to wait. Minnesota’s got a black eye nationwide right now that’s gonna affect a business long term, given the inability to recruit talent to the Twin Cities and just the livability of this community.”

The Minnesota Business Partnership is calling for better officer training in de-escalation tactics, regular evaluations of officers, and a reformed arbitration system for officers who have been disciplined for misconduct.
