Morgan Wallen has been in hot water since his arrest back in May. The musician had been trying to rebuild his reputation until videos of him partying without a mask were posted on Saturday (October 3rd) to Tik Tok. The singer had been scheduled to perform on Saturday Night Live that following Saturday but had his set pulled due to the videos confirming that Morgan had broken the show’s COVID-19 protocols. Last Wednesday (October 7th) Wallen decided to post a video on his Instagram to acknowledge the cancellation and announce his decision to take some time off.
In the video, the “Whiskey Glasses” singer notes that he believes he still has “some growing up to do” and that while he takes some time out of the spotlight, he plans to work on this issue. He then continues on to state that he has “lost [himself] a bit” and “tried to find joy in the wrong places.” Some fellow country stars, such as Miranda Lambert and Jake Owen, have commented words of encouragement for Morgan on his video. Since the video was posted a week ago, Morgan has kept his word to take a step back and has yet to post anything else on social media (other than a video collaboration with Genius that seems to have been recorded prior to the controversy). While Morgan has made some bad decisions lately, it is fair to say that the country music family wishes him nothing but the best on his journey to change!
