(Shakopee, MN) — A restaurant owner in Shakopee has been charged with 58 tax crimes related to underreported sales and fraudulent returns. Charges allege that Juansheng Lin, owner of Tokyo Sushi, underreported restaurant sales for months between 2015 and 2019. Investigators with the state Revenue Department say this allowed Tokyo Sushi to avoid paying over 19-thousand dollars in sales tax, which has also caused Lin to owe almost 20-thousand dollars in individual income tax and interest. Lin now faces multiple felony counts of fraud.
