In an effort to help employers around the state recruit and hire younger workers for internships and entry-level positions, the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development launched a digital tool kit.

“Listing of youth service providers, our programs around deed funded stem projects for youth, some information about how to create a high quality job description, a check list to prepare for an intern, and planning for work projects.”

DEED’s Marc Majors says they want to help companies in their efforts to hire and train youth workers because that can create long-term stability in the workforce. Interested employers can get more info at mn.gov/deed.

Majors says the benefits of youth employment are clear no matter the industry.

“For employers it is really investment into the future and the pipeline of their workforce.”
