(Northfield, MN) — Insurers have declared the historic Archer House River Inn in Northfield a total loss following a fire last November. The building suffered extensive damage after flames spread from the Smoqehouse eatery inside. Then, earlier this month, a portion of the inn collapsed. Rebound Partners, which insures the building, is now looking at several options including restoration, replacement or redevelopment. The hotel on the Cannon River first opened in 1877.
