A week that began with a somber warning about the dangers of opioid abuse ends with the final installment of a month-long series on addiction, recovery and the Minnesota justice system, hosted by the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation. Tori Utley with the Foundation says the entire series is centered on a key message.
“The hope of recovery and the transformation that happens in people’s lives is real.”
Utley says the final session includes a panel of legal professionals who will share their own stories of addiction and recovery.
“When we have attorneys and judges go back to their work, that they’ve heard examples, they’ve seen the hope of recovery through this series. They then can advocate for that through their work with real people, struggling or recovering today.”
