(St. Paul, MN) — A Minnesota senator is pushing for privacy rights for children on social media. During a roundtable meeting Thursday, Senator Amy Klobuchar called for a multi-layered approach to protect kids on social media. Parents told the senator that avoiding the apps altogether is near impossible, as schools and sports programs use them to distribute information. Klobuchar said she believes the Children’s Online Privacy Act needs to be updated to expand the age group that it protects.
