— Carrie Underwood and CeCe Winans are winners of a Gospel Music Association Dove Award, which honors achievements in Christian and gospel music. The duo won Song of the Year for “Great Is Thy Faithfulness.” It’s one of 13 tracks on Underwood’s ‘My Savior’ album. She also won a Dove Award back in 2006 for her breakout song, “Jesus Take the Wheel.”
— Garth Brooks is adding a third Nashville show next month. He’ll perform at the Grand Ole Opry House on November 18th, ahead of back-to-back performances at the iconic Ryman Auditorium on the 19th and 20th. Both of those shows sold out instantly. Garth has been trading his stadium performances for shows at smaller venues in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Tickets for Garth’s Opry show go on sale this Friday.
— Luke Bryan is promoting his upcoming Las Vegas residency by channeling his inner Elvis Presley. During an appearance this week on the ‘Ellen DeGeneres Show,’ guest-hosted by Katy Perry, Bryan gave his best impression of the King of Rock and Roll. His residency at The Theatre at Resorts World Las Vegas kicks off on February 11th, 2022. He’ll by joined by Perry, who will help him open the venue.
— The 2021 iHeart Country Music Festival returns this weekend with a superstar lineup. Blake Shelton, Toby Keith and Little Big Town are just a few of the performers who will take the stage on Saturday. The festival is returning to the Frank Erwin Center in Austin. Last year’s show was virtual.
— Jamey Johnson is returning to the road next year. He’ll kick off his headlining tour in January in Knoxville, Tennessee. The trek wraps up in March at Nashville’s iconic Ryman Auditorium. Tickets go on sale this Friday.
