After a successful fundraising campaign in 2020 and 2021, Kiwanis Camp Patterson, located at 5050 Patterson Road, Madison Lake, MN, is planning a Groundbreaking Ceremony for a Dining Hall Expansion and Improvement project this Friday, November 12 at 3:30 pm.

The ceremony will be led by the Greater Mankato Growth Ambassadors and Cavaliers and representatives from the camp’s two largest users, the Mankato YMCA and Celebrate Me Week, will be in attendance with some of the youth campers who will benefit from this project.

In addition, members of the Mankato Kiwanis Club, project donors and the general public are also invited to attend.

ABOUT THE PROJECT:

After consulting with the organizations that operate camps each year at Kiwanis Camp Patterson, the Camp Patterson, Inc. Board of Directors prioritized insulating, air conditioning and expanding the existing Dining Hall is the top priority for camp improvements prior to the 2022 camp season. The completion of this project will offer a cooled space that will be able to accommodate all campers and counselors at once. This is especially important during severe weather and when temperatures top 90 degrees. The space is used as a kitchen and dining hall but also serves as gathering space for announcements, recreation and other group camp. The general contractor for the project is Goodrich Construction.
