(Anoka, MN) — Anoka is putting a stop to drawing a hopscotch board on a sidewalk or street. City Council has passed a new regulation that bans flags, murals, memorials, banners and even chalk art displayed on buildings, light posts, flagpoles, streets and sidewalks in Anoka. According to officials, only items that display “governmental expression of the city” will be permitted. Council members say the legislation is meant to protect and maintain city-owned property.
