As Winter Hazard Awareness Week continues in Minnesota, the focus today is on fire safety. As temps go down, furnace use goes up and Kevin Reed with the Department of Public Safety recommends…

“Make sure that your furnace isn’t clogged by ice so you’re not getting that backflow that would normally be outside your house inside your house which can cause some carbon monoxide issues.”

Reed is also reminding anyone who uses a space heater to make sure it’s at least three feet away from anything combustible.
