— President Biden is honoring artists at the Kennedy Center Honors, an annual event skipped by the previous President. Biden was on hand Sunday to celebrate Bette Midler, Joni Mitchell, Lorne Michaels, Justino Diaz and Berry Gordy at a black-tie reception at the White House. The awards recognize lifetime achievement in the arts. It was skipped last year because of the pandemic. The honors will be broadcast on CBS December 22nd.
— A new report says former CNN anchor Chris Cuomo is being accused of sexual misconduct. Cuomo was fired by CNN Saturday because of the role he played in helping his brother, former New York governor Andrew Cuomo, fight sexual harassment claims. The New York Times says earlier this week a prominent employment lawyer informed CNN of a client with an allegation of sexual misconduct against Chris Cuomo. The lawyer, Debra Katz, said Saturday that the allegation against the news anchor is “unrelated to the Governor Cuomo matter.”
— Disney’s latest animated feature remains the top movie in the U.S. and Canada. “Encanto” earned nearly 13-million-dollars in its second weekend in theaters in North America. Coming in second is “Ghostbusters — Afterlife” with just over ten-million-bucks. “House of Gucci” costarring Lady Gaga, Jared Leto and Al Pacino grossed nearly seven-million-dollars in its second week of release. Rounding out the Top Five are “Christmas with The Chosen — The Messengers” followed by “Eternals.”
— Lady Gaga is sharing her approach to playing Patrizia Reggiani, the scandalous main character of her newest film, “House of Gucci.” Sitting down with Morning Edition Gaga said she spent months reading everything she could about the woman dubbed the ‘black widow’ by the Italian press. Gaga says she doesn’t think Reggiani was born a killer. She states, “I think that it was these trigger points of trauma throughout her life that turned her into what she became, which was a monster.” This comes after the Gucci family wrote a letter of disapproval for the film, calling the family’s portrayal “ignorant and insensitive.”
— ‘Vanderpump Rules’ stars Raquel Leviss and James Kennedy are ending their engagement. The reality TV stars made the announcement via Instagram Sunday with a dual statement and selfie seemingly taken on the series’ reunion stage. After five years together and a fixture on the Bravo series, the couple mutually broke it off. Leviss and Kennedy turned off the comments on their posts to avoid any negative feedback from fans. This announcement comes just seven months after the couple got engaged.
— Madonna is calling out 50 cent for making fun of her recent photo series on social media. The Vogue singer posted a series of provocative photos last week and made headlines when Instagram removed the initial post for violating community guidelines. Rapper 50 Cent made fun of the photos by photo shopping Madonna’s fishnet-clad legs under Dorothy’s house from an image taken from The Wizard of Oz. The singer made it clear that she didn’t find the joke funny when she accused the rapper of making fun of her on her Instagram Stories on Thursday. She also called out his habit of poking fun at other celebrities on social media calling it ‘the least elevated choice you could make as an artist and an adult.’ 50 Cent has yet to respond to Madonna’s post but the meme was removed from his page.
— Grimes is appearing to shade ex Elon Musk in her new song ‘Player of Games.’ The 33-year-old singer split from the billionaire of SpaceX and Tesla fame in September. Grimes sings about being in love with the ‘greatest gamer,’ which many think is a reference to her former boyfriend. The speculation is even more evident when she sings about the ‘greatest gamer’ floating away into space. Musk said the main reason for his split from the Canadian singer was his work, which required him to mostly be in Texas. Musk and Grimes dated for three years and share one child together.
— Wildcats are always there for each other. Monique Coleman says fellow “High School Musical” star, Corbin Bleu, supported her following a miscarriage just before the two actors were set to film the Lifetime holiday movie “A Christmas Dance Reunion.” Coleman called the support of Bleu and his wife, Sasha Clements, very special, particularly since they were all quarantining during that time. The couple even sent Coleman a picture of a candle they lit in honor of Coleman’s unborn child for Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day to remind her she was in their thoughts.
— Actor Tom Holland is delving into a new role other than Spiderman. The 25-year-old says he’ll be starring in Sony’s upcoming biopic about the legendary performer Fred Astaire. Amy Pascal will be producing the film and previously told GQ she had her eye on Holland to play to part. Astaire starred in 30 film musicals and typically took on roles with Ginger Rogers in several classics like “Swing Time” and “Top Hat.”
— Hilaria Baldwin is making sure everyone knows she has her husband’s back. It comes after Alec Balwdin sat down with ABC to talk about the shooting that left cinematographer Halyna Hutchins dead on the movie set of “Rust” in October. Hilaria posted a photo on Instagram accompanied by a lengthy post in support of Alec. Her main message to her husband: “I am here, I love you, and I will take care of you.”
— Amazon Prime Video is making an animated spin-off of the wildly popular superhero show “The Boys.” The company will release eight episodes of a series called “Diabolical.” Karl Urban, who portrays Billy Butcher in “The Boys,” confirmed the production with a video message, saying the executive producers enlisted several writers to breathe life into the new show. The animated series is set to premiere on Prime sometime next year.
— Jennifer Lawrence isn’t letting pregnancy stop her from walking the red carpet. The expecting mother was in New York City on Sunday for the premiere of “Don’t Look Up.” She wore a shimmery gold gown with cape sleeves designed by Dior. The 31-year-old is expecting her first child with husband Cooke Maroney.
— Derek Jeter is officially a girl dad. The retired Yankee welcomed his third daughter with model and television host wife Hannah Jeter. Their youngest daughter, River Rose Jeter, was born on December 2nd. Their eldest daughter Bella Raine is four years old and their second daughter, Story Grey, is two-and-a-half.
— Kim Kardashian West’s eldest son is now six. She took to Instagram on Sunday to celebrate Saint West’s birthday. Kim called Saint her bestie, saying there is no one like him, his smile, and his negotiating skills. Kim wasn’t the only one to wish her son a happy birthday, with praise coming in from grandma Kris Jenner, aunt Kourtney Kardashian and a video tribute from his dad, Kanye West.
) — Martha Stewart is off the market. Speaking on “Watch What Happens Live,” the business woman and TV personality told Andy Cohen she has a boyfriend. The 80-year-old didn’t say much else about her blossoming romance during Thursday’s interview.
