— Luke Bryan is returning to American Idol in 2022. The long-running reality TV competition returns for its fifth season on ABC, and its 20th season overall, on February 27th. The premiere date was announced over the weekend. Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and Ryan Seacrest will also be back.

— “1883,” starring Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, premieres this month on Paramount-Plus. It’s the prequel of the Emmy-nominated ‘Yellowstone’ series. The powerhouse couple will play James and Margaret Dutton, the patriarch and matriarch of the Dutton family. Actor Sam Elliott is also join the superstar cast. “1883” premieres December 19th.

— The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum in Nashville has a new exhibit on icon Bill Anderson. The exhibit made its debut on December 2nd in downtown Nashville. “Bill Anderson: As Far as I Can See,” gives fans a look at his life and career, from his start as a baseball pitcher in high school to his big break in Nashville. It runs through March 19th, 2023.

— CMT will air two Christmas-themed music specials this week. “CMT Crossroads Christmas” will feature Brett Young, Boys II Men, Chris Tomlin and more. CMT’s “A Tennessee Kind of Christmas” includes songs form country icons Billy Ray Cyrus, Clay Walker and Pam Tillis. Both specials premiere on Wednesday, December 8th. They’ll have encore showings the week of Christmas.

— Morgan Wallen and Luke Bryan are being announced as the headliners of the first-ever TidalWave Music Festival. The three-day festival takes place in Atlantic City, New Jersey August 12th through the 14th. Other performers include Hardy, Lauren Alaina, Blanco Brown, Runaway June and more. Three-day passes will go on sale next Monday, December 13th.
