The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) this week approved edibles in the form of gummies and chews as a new medical cannabis delivery method in the state’s medical cannabis program. MDH’s Chris Tholkes says:

“It’s another alternative for patients, you know we’ve heard from patients that some folks have had difficulty swallowing, or they would like a little bit longer-lasting product and edibles will help on both of those fronts.”

The new delivery method will become effective August 1st, 2022. Current permitted delivery forms include pills, vapor oil, liquids, topicals, powdered mixtures, and orally dissolvable products, like lozenges.
