(Mankato, MN) — Minnesota health officials are confirming the state’s second case of the omicron variant of COVID-19. Officials say the case is tied to a person affiliated with Minnesota State University-Mankato. University President Edward Inch notified faculty, staff, and students Friday that a vaccinated person at the school recently tested positive for the variant. Inch says the person is isolating and doing well. Masks were required at Saturday’s commencement ceremonies and Inch is encouraging everyone to get vaccinated and receive a booster.
