(St. Paul, MN) — The drug company lobby is continuing its fight against Minnesota’s emergency insulin law. The Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America is asking the U.S. Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals to overturn a lower court’s ruling that upheld the law. Supporters of the law demonstrated outside the federal courthouse late last week in St. Paul. Richfield Democratic Representative Mike Howard says more than 500 Minnesotans have accessed benefits from the program so far that would otherwise would have been at risk of death. Howard was the chief author of the bill.
