With colder temperatures setting in and the cost of propane and natural gas increasing, you may be seeing higher than expected heating bills this winter.  U.S. Senator Tina Smith is encouraging Minnesotans to see if they are eligible for assistance through the LIHEAP funding. (Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program) Smith says even if you don’t think you qualify, it’s worth double-checking:

“Last year only about 40,000 Minnesotans used this program, that’s a lot but we know that many, many more families were eligible but just never went to go explore it.”
