The Woman Farmer of the Year Award (1045am) is among highlights on this third and final day of Farmfest.  Day two was marked by a vigorous debate battle between Democratic Governor Tim Walz and Republican challenger Scott Jensen.  Walz touted “One Minnesota,” pointing to bipartisan efforts:

“I am the first governor in Minnesota history to never issue a veto.  That is because compromise is a virtue and not a vice.”

Jensen responded, Walz doesn’t have to do any vetoes “if you have other people doing your dirty work”:

“If they’re caught on a hot mic saying, well, we can’t vote for this even though we been working on this for five months.  We had some compromises worked out, but we can’t do it because… he won’t let us.”
